New Version of ontram Introduced on Roadshow
The Next Generation in Web-based Translation Management
Berlin, 21 April 2010 – The new version of ontram, the web-based Translation Management System by Andrä AG, will be introduced on a roadshow throughout Germany in May. ontram+, as the new version is called, combines the latest Java technology and long years of experience by several thousand users with the functionalities of the previous version. This provides for an intuitive user interface, allows a very open API, and thus guarantees customers security for their investment.
ontram provides for consistent multilingual texts for users like CLAAS, Metabowerke and Travian Games, and creates a unified workflow that can be accessed in real time by translators, participating country subsidiaries and project managers. The software allows the browser-based translation and editing of texts independent of source documents' format. The users are assisted by a translation memory, a terminology database, integrated change tracking, a spell checker available in over 30 languages, and additional functions. The integrated scheduling module informs all participants about the progression of the project and ensures smooth cooperation.
New Core Based on the Java Enterprise Platform
The core of ontram was completely redeveloped as a Java application. The tried-and-true ontram system was translated to the future-proof, scalable Java Enterprise Platform in a continuous integration and development process. The main modules of the framework, the powerful translation memory engine along with the interfaces and filters, remain the essential components of the software.
Roadshow in Berlin, Stuttgart, Hanover
The innovations and improvements in ontram+ will be presented on a roadshow with stops in Berlin (6 May), Stuttgart (20 May) and Hanover (2 June). Participation in the events is free of charge, including catering.
