Andrä AG presents new ontram edition
Translation Process Management with Adobe InDesign
Berlin, 8 September, 2008 - At the Cologne DMS Expo from 9 to 11 September (Hall 7.1, Stand I-078) Andrä AG, an independent manufacturer of software products for professional translation management, launches its new DTP edition of ontram, the Online Translation Management Framework. The intuitively usable and fully web-based software enables companies to make their translation, adaptation and correction processes more efficient, more transparent and more economical. The new edition above all benefits clients who primarily wish to optimise the handling of their InDesign tasks. The professional layout software for the creation of quality documents is extensively used across all sectors. By means of the "ontram DTP Edition" up to 75 users can share contents, data and workflow information across systems. As a result companies are able to generate significant potential savings by comparison with traditional translation processes.
ontram is of advantage wherever contents regularly need to be translated into several languages. Within companies this mainly concerns the areas of technical communications, documentation and product communications. And publishing houses, media production companies, translation agencies and free-lance translators also use the software for the management of translation processes. ontram has open interfaces for all customary file formats and is easily integrated into existing system landscapes such as content management, e-Learning and product management systems.
When producing previews, users of the "ontram DTP Edition" can directly resort to an Adobe InDesign Server, which is available as an optional extra to the package. In the same way as the "ontram Value Edition" the new edition can be optionally run on a client's own server or hosted at the Berlin computing centre of Andrä AG.
Fully web-based
The software comprises an integral spellcheck facility for over 30 languages as well as a terminology function to ensure the consistent use of specialist terms, trade names and accepted expressions. The fully web-based approach of ontram renders local installations superfluous and enables fully networked job sharing. As opposed to a client based solution, users can in real-time access the latest available data and the know-how of a common translation memory.
A proven solution in several editions
Today, over 1,000 users rely on ontram for their project work, annually handling in excess of 10,000 translation tasks. The comprehensive solution is also available as a standardised software product
- "ontram Value Edition"
for process groups of up to 50 users, - "ontram DTP Edition"
for process groups of up to 75 users and specifically designed for Adobe InDesign processes, - "ontram Enterprise Edition"
the version that can be individually configured for comprehensive translation processes involving large user numbers.
